+SECOND AMENDMENT FOUNDATION
Second Amendment Foundation (SAF) is the nation's oldest and largest tax-exempt education, research, publishing and legal-action group focusing on the constitutional right and heritage to own and possess firearms. Founded in 1974, SAF has grown to more than 650,000 members and supporters, and conducts many programs designed to better inform the public about the consequences of gun control.
SAF was one of the appellants of the landmark U.S. Supreme Court case McDonald v. City of Chicago, 08-1521 (2009). As a legal-action group, SAF has defended the Second Amendment right to keep and bear arms on behalf of itself and its members including many gay Americans with its lawyer-referral service and legal representation:

• Doe v. San Francisco Housing Authority, 3:2008cv03112 (N.D. Cal. 2008) included gay plaintiff Guy Montag Doe
• Parker v. District of Columbia, 04-7041 (D.C. Cir. 2007) included gay plaintiff Tom G. Palmer
